This is a one of a kind, custom made, and extraordinary earthen home blending modern accents with local traditional construction. There is no other house quite like this one in all of Ecuador; its a showcase and has been featured here locally in architectural networks. This 3 bedroom 2 bath home is made of bahareque which is a traditional Ecuadorian style construction made of earth with a wooden framework. Every detail has been thought out & tastefully created, down to even a built-in dish drying rack disguised as a cupboard over the sink and a gorgeous ceramic mandala in the center of the guest room floor. The kitchen has a large pantry and two sinks- one bar sink and one deep sink with two sections. All of the countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms are granite with speckled quartz. The house feels so warm and inviting with wooden floors in the bedrooms, high ceilings made of pine & accented with wooden cross beams. Many walls have rounded corners, and the entire space is adorned by beautiful candescent lights many in gorgeous asian style chandeliers. Even the steel protection on the windows was custom made and symmetrical to fit each opening. The doors to the outside are also made of steel.
While all of the structures are one floor buildings, the foundation of the main house was built to hold 2-3 stories at the owners request ensuring 100% structural strength in case of any further earthquakes. Apart from the foundation, all of the materials were locally sourced; the entire framing of the house is made of pine wood, and the walls are hand made with earth and a mix of 7% of cement. This is beyond just a grounded home as the owner intensely studied about dirty electricity- bio hacking and how to build the structures according to “Building Biology Standards” with zero toxic pollution from electromagnetic radiation. There was 5 times more electrical cable used to wire the main house correctly as to avoid encasement of dirty electrical. All of the electrical wiring is intelligently designed as all wires are isolated and harmless.
The property measures 3,000m2 / .74 acres and is entirely fenced, sprinklers are installed, and the property is currently being landscaped with lawn, flowers, and bushes.
